Bek Downes

Bek graduated at the end of 2012 from the University of Newcastle, spending her time in the musculoskeletal private practice setting, and joined our team in 2016.

She has a certificate in Level two Trigger Point Dry Needling, and has attended courses including foot and ankle biomechanics, fundamentals of hand therapy and Lyn Watson's Level 1 shoulder course. Bek has a special interest in treating biomechanical issues associated with running and other sports, and an interest in treating hand and wrist injuries. She also enjoys working alongside NDIS clients to help them achieve their goals. She is a keen runner and touch football player, loves a good gig and is somewhat of a craft beer connoisseur.

Guilty pleasure: I have a massive sweet tooth - chocolate and ice cream will be the end of me

Favourite movie: The Lord of the Rings trilogy

3 people you would love to have dinner with: Jesus, Kanye West, and Nigella Lawson as she'd cater to my sweet tooth

I love physiotherapy because: pain can impact a person's whole life, and being able to make a change in someone's pain can change their life – what a privilege!

Favourite book: I was obsessed with the Harry Potter series as a kid, and still am!

Favourite Place: My hometown of Gerringong will always have a special place in my heart – but I visited the South Island of NZ a few years back and the place is absolutely magical!
